LEDFORD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 9
The JV Cowboys took it on the chin tonight in a 9-0 loss to Ledford. Southwest just couldn't string anything together to score runs and a porous defense allowed Ledford to score early and often off of 5 errors. Brandon Cecillo went 2-3 at the plate while Charleston Saylor, Tripp Anthony & Carson Benfield all had a hit. Seth Witmeyer (2-1) took the loss on the mound while giving up 7 runs on 10 hits with 4 strikeouts in 3 innings. Tyler Lloyd followed with 3 strong innings, giving up 2 hits, 2 runs, and striking out 6 batters. Andy Payne finished up with a scoreless 7th including a strikeout. Southwest falls to 5-3 on the season and will return to action on Friday at 5:30 when they host Ragsdale.
