The JV Cowboys opened up their conference slate with a 6-5 loss at Glenn on Tuesday night. The Cowboys jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first off a couple of Glenn errors.  The Bobcats bounced back with a run in the 1st, 3 more in the 2nd, and one in the 3rd to take a 5-2 lead.  Southwest cut the lead to 5-3 in the 5th after Collin Bighinatti led off the inning with a single, moved to 3rd on a double by Ryan Croom and eventually scored on a Glenn error.  The game would remain this way until the top of the 7th when Adam Needles drove a 2-1 pitch over the left fielder's head to score 2 runs with 2 outs to tie the game up.  The celebration was short lived however, as Glenn would lead off the bottom of the 7th with a triple and eventually score on a wild pitch to walk off with the victory.  Jacob Shafer (0-1) took the loss despite pitching a strong 1 1/3 innings and recording 2 strikeouts.  Cade Allred got the start on the mound for Southwest and went 4 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs while striking out 4 batters and Tripp Anthony pitched the final 1/3 of an inning.  The Cowboys were led by Shafer (2-3), Brandon Cecilio (2-4) and Needles (1-4, 2 RBIs) at the plate.  Southwest falls to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.  The Cowboys return to nonconference action on Wednesday at 5:00 in a return game against Ledford.
