MOUNT TABOR HIGH SCHOOL: 2
The team lost to Mount Tabor 2-1 in double overtime last night in the second round of the state playoffs. Mount Tabor took a 1-0 lead into halftime despite outstanding play by the Cowboy side. Southwest equaled the score at 1-1 on a goal by senior Zander Bishop off of a free kick by Jacob Melton. the score remained tied at the end of regulation. The first overtime period saw the 'Boys have several shots on goal but the 10 minute period ended still tied at 1-1. the second overtime period was again evenly played until Tabor got a break-away down the left side and netted a goal off of a cross, which proved to be the game winner with 4:30 left in overtime. The team finished the season with a 14-11 record.
